Who We Are

This warm historic cottage with some practical modern touches built in circa 1900 in a peaceful location, walking distance to town and the picturesque rail trial nearby. The romantic and dreamy bedrooms have beautiful 4 poster beds and a couple of sweet single beds all with soft antique linen and luxurious mattresses.

Enjoy the fire place during winter as you relax on the chesterfield or sit looking out from the bay window at the elm or sitting on the veranda just like old times telling stories and watching the world go by.

The spacious garden is filled a beautiful shady elm in summer, Australia gums, cypress trees and palms so you could be anywhere in the world. A lot of natural fauna to attract the birds and you will see an occasional kangaroo grazing in the back yard or in the paddocks nearby.

We have lots of historical literature, maps etc about Linton on the desk in the dining room.

Continental breakfast is included which is a variety of cereal, juice, fresh milk and fresh fruit. Tea, coffee, sugar and coffee machine. Shower over a bath with toiletries included, 2 toilets one inside and an outside just like the old days in perfect flushing order.

Some other features of this house a split system for heating and cooling, barbeque, abundance of space for the children to play including a garden for the children to find treasure’s (ornaments) hidden in the garden.

You will find this house 30 minutes from Ballarat Central or 20 minutes from the suburb of Delacombe and Winter Valley and 113 kms from Melbourne or 99kms from Geelong. Our accommodation is an alternative to the Grampians or Halls Gap which takes in the unique country side with a trip taking you approximately an hour and forty minutes.

Looking for an alternative whilst visiting family or friends in Ballarat? Linton is the place to connect in Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring over the BBQ, indoor fire or over a lovely kitchen preparing meals.

Bike riders or bush walkers will love the unique rail trail location which presents the option to do two rides one to Skipton though bush and open farming croping country as ride and the other to Scarsdale passing though the Clarkesdale Bird Sanctuary and the Historical Nimmons bridge. Linton allows you to explore the best of the Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail with the option to do as little or a lot of the rail trail.
